Mom said she wanted to go out for breakfast this morning. So I asked her what she wanted ... it ended up that we went to Ying Wah Yuen. I do come here often during working days, and what is nice here is the beef noodles, the kueh chap and the popiah. I ordered all 3 this morning. Indeed everything was yummy.

Kueh chap special, RM13
The kueh chap broth had a really nice flavour; the ingredients were really generous as well.

Mom did not want to hang out at Vivacity Megamall, so I sent her home first. Then I went to pick my aunts up to go to Vivacity Megamall. We were early, and argued a bit about whether to browse from the top floor down or from the bottom floor up. Lol. Fourth Aunt wanted to go from bottom floor upwards, but I insisted on going up to the top floor first and then come down.

I thought it was more sensible to go up and come down since going downwards is always less taxing. Haha ... Some more, Fifth Aunt wanted to go to New Balance, which was somewhere on top, and Fourth Aunt wanted to eat at Dubu-Yo which was at the Lower Ground floor. And our car was also parked at the basement ... so it would make more sense to shop first at the top levels, and then come down to eat and get the car after we were done.

So in the end, we took the lift to the top floor, Level 3. It was the wrong floor since I wanted to bring Fifth Aunt to New Balance at Level 2 to exchange her shoes. So while walking towards the elevator, we passed by Shuyi Grass Jelly & Tea. There was a lion dance troupe waiting there .... so apparently it was their grand opening day. There was a sign in front saying that there were having a Grand Opening Buy 1 Free 1 promo. How can I resist, right? So we decided to buy ....

Signature Grass Jelly Milk Tea and Cheese Milk Grass Jelly, RM10.90

Since they were just opened for business in the morning, I could see that they were a bit disorganised. We sat in the shop to drink, but it was really small and I was not feeling very comfortable ... so I quickly finished my drink and left. Both the drinks were nice ... I liked the multitude of ingredients used for the signature grass jelly milk tea since it had grass jelly, red beans, nata de coco, raisins, peanuts, and brown sugar bubbles. However, I did not like that the sugar level could not be customised. The cheese milk tea had a richer taste profile ... both were tasty. Heh, I had meant to try Shuyi, but unexpectedly, I paid only half price for my drink. Heh. Happy.

The New Balance shoe could not be exchanged since they had no stock of the same pair. The staff directed Fifth Aunt to the outlet at The Spring. Nearby was Anta ... and we went inside and browsed, and Fourth Aunt managed to buy a pair that she liked. Heh. After that, we merely browsed and browsed and browsed at various shops, with no one buying anything.

I never thought that Dubu-yo was nice and I never had the urge to try. But since Fourth Aunt insisted, I relented.

Spicy Seafood Ramen

We ordered at Kimchi Beef Soondubu Jigae, and a spicy seafood ramen, and  a chicken gogi rice set. But hmn .... the jigae tasted alright, but the beef slices in there were so tough and chewy. Of course they used an unsuitable cut of meat. The Spicy Seafood Ramen was very salty. The chicken was forgettable. Heh. The first and last for me.
