Mom went out for breakfast with her sisters this morning. So breakfast would be on my own. And I had 2 things in mind for breakfast - one was laksa from Yong Kwang Kopitiam, and the other was a luncheon meat and egg sandwich. I also browsed Grab .... and almost ordered from the mamak's ,,, but in the end, I decided to make the luncheon meat and egg sandwich on my own. I kind of felt lazy to go out after a tiring week.
Well, I have had a super busy week ....for 3 days, I was administering speaking exams. I went out at 5.40 am, collected my exam papers by 6 am, reached my centre at 6.20 am .... and waited till 8 am to begin the exam. For 3 days, it had been a full swing after 8.00 am ... and I would only finish by 2 pm. When I got home, I had to check and key in the marks, and then work my report, and finally to organise the paperwork for the next day. By then, it was already nearly 6 pm and I would be dog-tired.
I have 2 more days to endure next week. And I was looking forward for the whole thing to be over. Suddenly yesterday mid-morning, I received news that the exam was postponed to 2-3 Nov for the entire country. Reason? The haze.
I was fuming mad.
My own students in my own school was also scheduled to sit for the exam next week on Monday and Tuesday. So I had to prepare the rooms yesterday morning ... cleaning the floors, arranging the tables, preparing the materials and equipment. It took 2 hours to get everything ready. But all this effort went into the drain. Not only would the rooms not be used, I need to spend more time putting everything else back into their original positions and return the rooms to the school.
My own students have been preparing diligently for the speaking exam for the past 2 weeks. They are mentally ready to face the exam. They are also looking forward to finishing the exam so that they can shift their focus to their core STPM subjects. Trial exams and the actual exams are coming up shortly and they need to intensively prepare for them already. This postponement came like a big slap to their faces and spoiled all of their plans.
2-3 November also coincided with SPM oral exams apparently. My students would not be able to use the original rooms for their speaking exams .... so how?

This decision by the higher-ups really cause so much inconvenience on the ground level .... there are people who need to carry out exams in the more rural areas ... they have bought their flight tickets and booked their accommodations ... so how?

hmm....I'm confused with so many exams here....lol! the one got postponed is MUET? and it clashes with SPM and writing assessment?
