the wrong way

my hand
clutched at my heart
a strong grip
to numb the pain
as it appeared

my fort
still holds
the well of tears
threatening to pour
oh how long can i endure

all triggered
by a mere glance
in the wrong way

even after so long
i thought i was whole
alas
i assumed wrong
now i am forlorn
