Red Velvet Cupcake

One of the cakes that is in trend nowadays is the Red Velvet. It's very distinctive with its dark red colour. It seems to be sold at many swanky cafes in town.

I came across a small cream cupcake at the Lof Bakery .... and therefore was tempted to buy it.

Red Velvet Osaka Cupcake 

The texture of the cake was good - dense, yet very fine and moist. It does have a luxurious and velvety feel to it.

The notable ingredients in Red Velvet Cakes include chocolate and buttermilk. But the cake tasted neither of chocolate nor buttermilk. So some people describe the it as somewhat like a mild chocolate cake.

It was the strawberry cream at the centre which accentuated the taste of the cake, providing it with a burst of fresh fruity flavour. Delicious. ;p
