All Decked Out For Christmas

When I was a child, I had gone on many trips to Singapore. Usually, we would go during the end-of-the-year holidays.

One of the places that we would always visit was Orchard Road. I remember that Orchard Road was always jazzed up with colourful lights for Christmas. I vaguely remember the big decorative reindeers or cardboards of large Santa Clauses adorning the facade of the shopping malls along Orchard Road. The bright lights and the colourful Christmas displays left me bedazzled!

After many years of absence, I had the opportunity to visit Orchard Road this Christmas. Aunt A****** said that I was lucky as this year, Orchard Road was decked out for the festive occasion big time! Aunt said that there were hardly any decorations last year because of the economic downturn.

We went to Orchard Road early as there were new shopping malls to visit, namely the ION Orchard and the Orchard Central. ION Orchard was relatively new and housed many labels, including luxury brands.

Aunt brought us to Isetan at Shaw House and Centre, where there was a Japanese Food Promotion. We enjoyed ourselves sampling the Japanese food and drinks on promotion.

Walking along Orchard Road, you will see this giant Louis Vuitton bag on display outside Ngee Ann City. It was a promotional gig in conjuction with the expansion of its flagship store. This giant boite flacon monogram trunk measures 6m x 2m x 4m in size, and is complete with details.

This eye-catching LV bag attracted lots of attention indeed

Orchard Central was a bit quiet compared to ION and the rest of the malls. I found its setting a bit confusing. However, there was this eye-catching structure at Orchard Central. It was of a lady shopper and she stretched at least 4 storeys tall! Awesome!

Before long, the lights were lit up, showering festive atmosphere all over the street and the people.

There were numerous reindeer fashionistas along Orchard Road this Christmas, and I just could not resist snapping a shot at some of them. Cute, eh?

Oooh, aren't we sexy? Bet Rudolph won't be able to tear his eyes off you, gal.

Anyway, I am really glad to be able to see the Christmas lights at Orchard Road this year. I wish everybody in advance, a Merry XMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
