Breakfast @ Pelita Hai Ma

It was jammed everywhere but we found a place to park. Guess we were meant to have our breakfast at Pelita Hai Ma, here at the Pelita Commercial Centre. We ate a bit of dim sum. They all tasted pretty ordinary.

Braised Pig Stomach
Not much of taste, really - not sweet, not sour, nor fragrant ... hmn ....  only that the slices of stomach was chewy ..

Steamed Pork Ribs
The meat was tender, but taste wise, hmn .... savoury and gingery ... better than the pig stomach earlier ...

Beancurd Skin Roll ... quite salty ... and no texture where the filling was concerned...

 Century Egg Dumplings
Tasted alright ... not memorable though

I had Penang Fried Kuih Teow with clams special, for RM6.00.

Fried Kueh Tiaw, with Chinese sausages, clams, eggs, prawns and beansprouts.
Hmn ... the noodle dish seemed to be lacking something today ... I remember that they used to taste better last time. I liked the large prawns, though. Plus, the sambal still tasted yum.

Outside the cafe was a stall selling kuih. Business was good. Lots of people crowded the tables and bought the kuih.

Of the three, the kuih salad was the best, with savoury glutinous rice and not-so-sweet pandan custard on the top layer. The texture was also nice. The ondeh-ondeh skin was too thick and the filling was not sweet enough for my liking. I did not eat the peanut ball, so no comment.

Breakfast ... hmn ... not so enjoyable this time.

  1. The Kway Tiaw fried by the wife has more wok's breath.

  2. My friend said the same thing! I forgot to see who fried the noodles the other day ... will take note in the future.
