Rice Noodle Rolls

I have never really liked rice noodle rolls or chee cheung fun. It's one of the dim sum favourites, consisting of a meat or seafood, wrapped in a steamed rice flour batter. It is served with a light soy sauce and some spicy sambal.

I suppose that I have never found rice noodle rolls that I enjoy eating. That is probably why I have never been fond of it. Till I tried the one at Jing Wood, and the rice noodle roll was so good that it made me crave for it over and over again.

Rice Noodle Rolls with BBQ Pork

Rice Noodle Rolls with Shrimps

Diners can choose either BBQ pork or shrimps in their rolls. We ordered one of each. What's nice about the rolls here is the texture. The noodle roll is thin, almost translucent, springy, chewy and yet not hard. The shrimps and meats used are already pre-cooked. But the shrimps still taste sweet. The special sauce was also delicious. It was light, savoury and not too salty, and most importantly it tasted good when eaten with the rolls. The sambal was fiery and fragrant with the taste of dried shrimps.

At RM4.00 per serving, customers have to wait till 30 minutes sometimes for their orders to arrive.
