Banana Fritters @ Kenyalang Market

There is an old couple selling fritters at the Kenyalang Market food centre. They are already in their seventies, and have been selling for a long time at the same location. They have a stall at one corner, and business is consistently good. They sell banana fritters, sweet potato fritters, yam fritters, and breadfruit fritters.

I had to wait a long time to buy my fritters. This morning, there was no yam nor sweet potato fritters ..... only banana and breadfruit ones.

Fritters

4 or 5 pieces of banana fritters sold for RM1.00, depending on the variety of banana. And breadfruit fritters were RM0.50 each.

Breadfruit fritters and a banana fritter

Well .... what enticed a lot of people was probably the super-crunchy crust. One would made a lot of noise while chewing those fritters! Hence, the fritters were nice to eat.

The older folks would find the crust to be too hard, but not for kids! There were some customers who asked the old couple for the crumbs .... as their kids only wanted to eat those!! The old man himself says he enjoys the crumbs with a bowl of porridge!

Be prepared to wait though, to tuck into those super-crunchy fritters .... every batch of fritters is gone once they are out of the wok!
