Taiwan Cha Ya Cafe

We both felt that this was a great place for meals. We enjoyed the food lots and we vowed to come back.

We chanced upon it while walking towards Munch at Jalan Song Thian Cheok.... and out of curiosity, we stood by the glass door of this tiny restaurant to check out the menu. And on an impromptu, we decided to try out the food.

Seaweed Salad, RM4.00
This one is more pungent with the use of garlic .... served cold, this salad made a great appetiser; we both loved it.

Fried Dumpling RM5.80
Delicious and crispy skin, and with juicy minced meat and cabbage filling

Yummy .... the filling was juicy and so tasty ...

Our main courses were ...

Smoked Tea Duck Rice, RM8.50
I tried this because of the signature smoked tea duck. And I liked it because the meat was tender and had the subtlest smoky tea flavour. The rice was served with stir-fried ferns and dried radish. Very nice. I enjoyed the combination of all the items on the plate.

Beef Noodles, RM8.90
The broth tasted of bean paste, and was a tad spicy ... the beef pieces were tender and flavourful; very nice too. :))

Taiwan Cha Ya Cafe is located where the former JP Mart was ... just behind Fook Hai Dim Sum along Song Thian Cheok Road. I think it's worth a try.
