Money Matters

There was a special task for me that morning.

So much money!! But alas, not mine.

I was asked to help out in the distribution of RM100 to students at school. It was interesting to be in the position to give out money. Even though it was not my money.

Just before 9.00 p.m., Boss went to the bank accompanied by Vice Boss. It took them such a long time to come back to the school, and when they did, they were escorted by 2 gun-wielding policemen. Whoa! Security detail was so necessary when one had in his hands enough cash to buy a car!

We then went into Boss' office to divide the money among us. I was in-charge of Form 2. I had 114 names in my list and that meant I was holding on to RM11,400. Whoa. If only it was my money. I can already see a couple of LVs or Coaches or Ipads swimming before my eyes!

Snap back to reality, and outside the office, all the parents and students were anticipating the money, waiting anxiously for us to begin distributing the money. So, we had the parents line up, but they did not know how to line up. They mobbed us left, right and centre. Boss was afraid that we would faint due to the lack of oxygen. Vice Boss quickly announced over the PA System for everyone to calm down and they would be served accordingly. Lol. So chaotic when it came to freebies.

Anyway, all they had to do was to produce their identification card, write their names, id number and then sign. When they'd done that, I'd hand them RM100. Easy peasy. Only that there were so many of them and I got bored after a very short while. ;p

So I was sure glad when everything was over. Phew!
