Dinner @ Taiwan Siau Jou

AT and I had our dinner at Taiwan Siau Jou at Stutong. We ordered 2 bowls of porridge, and with those, AT chose 2 types of vegetables, salted egg, and steamed minced pork.

When the food was set on the table, AT thought the portion was too little. So he got up and went back to the counter .... and ordered more dishes. And we had a jicama stirfry and stuffed tofu. He ordered another portion of steamed minced pork as well.

 Dinner ...

First of all, I loved the porridge, which had a piece of bright orange sweet potato in it. The consistency was really good .... not too diluted and not too thick like congee. And all the stir-fried vegetables were yummy, and I particularly loved the sweet jicama with the faint taste of dried prawns. The texture of the minced meat could be improved though .... tasted a bit hard and chewy and unnatural, somehow. Perhaps they had added flour or some other ingredients which helped retain its shape. Oh, and AT loved the stuffed tofu.

Not sure how much the entire meal cost ...... but with Taiwan Siau Jou, I know the price is reasonable.
