Palliative Care Centre Opening

I tagged along with my friend to the Palliative Care Centre Opening the other day. They have just moved to a new premises at Siang Siang Garden at Taman Lopeng Jaya, near the hospital. Previously, they were located behind the main car park at the Miri General Hospital.

The Palliative Care Association is a non-profit charitable organisation, made up of nursing staff and volunteers. Their mission is to provide support for patients who are facing a life-threatening illness through home visitations, the Care Centre, and consultations with the doctors. All this is done to enable terminally-ill patients to live life to the fullest till the very last moments.

The Care Centre operates every Tuesday morning for social activities.

The Palliative Care Association welcomes donations in many forms - money, time, and equipment. To find out how you can contribute, you may wish to email them at : palliativecaremiri@gmail.com.
