I ordered . . .
A Briyani Set
It consists of the spiced rice and 3 types of vegetables served on a banana leaf. Today's vegetables were pumpkin curry, deep-fried bittergourd, and cucumber pickles.
Diners could have their briyani customised too ...
My friend asked for only the deep-fried bittergourd. So she got a bigger portion, sans the other two vegetables.
You know, just by looking at the rice, my stomach started on a symphony of rumbles. ;p
Chicken curry, RM4.00
There were 3 pieces of chicken in thick, heavily spiced curry. Very tasty.
Butter chicken, RM4.00
Also 3 pieces of chicken in a rich and creamy spiced sauce. Well, there was just a wonderful fusion of flavours here - sweet, savoury, buttery, aromatic. It was just simply divine, and sure tasted even better compared to the plain old chicken curry.
To go with the rice, there was gravy ...
2 bowls of vegetable dhal, a fish curry gravy and a chicken curry gravy
and
Papadums
This one tasted like tapioca chips. I like ;))
and
Dried chilli
Well, actually, we saw a container filled with these at the counter so we enquired about it because we were curious. The man was amused and gave us some to try.
I took a bite and my face crumpled. Geez, just look at the amount of coarse salt in there ... OMG! So I had to rub away all the salt before eating the chilli. It reminded me of all preserved plums. Lol.
Well, the both of us had a totally satisfying meal, made up of very complex flavours from the use of spices. Love it! Love it to bits!
hmm can i add extra vegetables after i finished them without being charged extra? in west msia, i get to add veg as much as i want FOC. im not too sure how it works here since i just got transferred to miri. and it's so difficult to find decent indian food here!
ReplyDeletethat i'm not sure as the portion of vegetables is enough for me. you may want to ask the next time you eat there! why not come back and tell readers whether it's FOC? Thanks in advance!
